Learning a foreign language





Learning a foreign language is not an easy thing. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and efforts. Nowadays it is especially important to know foreign languages.

Some people learn languages because they need them for their work, others travel abroad, for the third studying languages is a hobby. Everyone, who knows foreign languages can speak to people from other countries, read foreign writers in the original, which makes your outlook wider. It is not surprising that many intellectuals and well-educated people are polyglots.

Nowadays English has become the world's most important language in politics, science, trade and cultural relations. Over 300 million people speak it as a mother tongue. To know English today is absolutely necessary for every educated person, for every good specialist.

There are many ways to learn the English, such as: use a self-teaching course(video-tapes or radio-cassettes, different books and exercises), television and radio(many broadcasting companies offer language courses on TV or radio), learn with a teacher, learn at work and many others.

English is very important for Secretary. English is the language of science, of aviation, computers, diplomacy, and tourism. Knowing English increases your chances of getting a good job in a multinational company within your home country or of finding work abroad.The secretary must understand to correspond and negotiate with foreign clients.

That is why in order to understand oneself and environment one has to study foreign languages.

 

 

3 Taking exams

Students of all educational institutions normally take examinations or tests to show they have gained enough knowledge to move to the next level. They are a significant part of the curriculum. I don’t think students like the exams, as they make them anxious and stressed. However, I’m sure that everybody should take part in exam system. It motivates us to study better.

My first examinations were my 0-levels. I passed 4 exams: Bel., Rus.,Math., and History. Examination always very stressful for me, because I am afraid of getting a bad mark. In front of me was is initially aim to pass these exams very well. I worked hard to learn these subjects, going through ups and downs. And in the end I was very well passed these exams.

In addition to school exams, I passed the exams at the art school. For me it was very easy, and sometimes even fun, and of course I never worried when passed these exams.

In the last semester I faced up to something I had been dreading for some time. It was an English exam. In a class there was a pleasant atmosphere. I was absolutely calm. When I pulled the ticket, I was a bit upset because I did not prepare this subject. Yet I passed the exam. Not as good as I expected, but I hope that I rectify this situation at this semester.

In my opinion, all students should preparing for exam. I have formulated my own rules which could really help me to prepare.

1. Study in intervals! Studying in 20-50 minute increments and giving yourself 5-10 minutes in between is more beneficial than cramming.

2. You can take exercise in the intervals between study. It improves memory and does not allow sleep.

3. Learn in silence, it is more effective than with music and outsider noise.

Each student during the session feels stress. It’s an unavoidable part of student life.

1. Listen to Classical Music

2. More walk in the fresh air. Research has proven that exercising such as taking a walk can boost your memory and brain power.

3. Try to get enough sleep.

4. Eating Dark Chocolate and nuts.

This can help to calm down and regain strength.

4. Examination stress

All students know that exams can be a stressful time! The thought of having to sit in that big hall in silence, the thought of all the stuff you need to remember and certainly the thought that you will never pass your exams! These are common thoughts that go through students's mind when they are sitting your exams. No matter how exam friendly, or clever you are there will always be nervousness, worry and stress when it comes to exam season!

Sometimes though, the stress can be so overwhelming that people won't be able to cope and this may start to have a bad effect on their exams!

There are some obvious signs that you are under stress:

Starting to get headaches.

You will start to sleep badly.

You will lose your appetite.

You will start to get irritable and bad tempered.

Start to feel tired a lot more.

I am always very nervous before the exam. But I have a few ways that help me to calm down.
